During the Civil War, Mullein was used as an antiseptic. The Mullein leaf was soaked in hot water to treat wounds and the leafs were also used in order to soothe the soldiers lungs and cleanse their respiratory system. Mullein is an expectorant, which means it helps the body expel excess mucus, by allowing you to bring up the dormant mucus sitting in your throat or on your chest each time you cough. It is also a demulcent. Studies show that demulcents create a soothing anti-inflammatory coating over mucous membranes. Excellent for people who suffer from asthma. It can also be used for bronchitis, coughs, flu, allergies, fever, sore throat and colds, earaches and tuberculosis.
Mullein also clears the nasal passage and helps soothe sinus issues meaning it can be used to combat hay-fever.

How to consume:
1. Boil 2 cups of spring water and add 2-3 tablespoon of mullein.
2. Simmer for 15 mins then strain for a liquid result.
